Booking an appointment
The first appointment is an evaluation, whatever you end up needing after it. Here is how to ask for one, what to have nearby, and where this practice stands on insurance, refills and cancellations.
Starting care for the first time?
Read our New Patient Guide before scheduling. Learn who can book, what happens during your initial 60-minute evaluation, what to have ready, and how our intake process works.
Asking for an appointment
Book an appointment
Online booking is being set up. Until it is live, email is the way in, and it is read during office hours.
Send your name, a phone number, and when you can be reached. All visits are conducted via secure telepsychiatry across Indiana. That is everything needed to offer you a time.
Please leave symptoms, diagnoses and medication out of the email. Ordinary email is not a secure channel. Those questions are asked inside the records system once there is an appointment, where they are covered by this practice's agreement.
Booking opens in a new tab and takes a few minutes. You pick an appointment type and select an available time. All appointments are currently conducted via secure telehealth across Indiana.
That opens your mail app with the questions already in it. If nothing happens, write to contact@stillmindmentalhealth.com yourself.
How booking works
Booking opens in a new tab on our secure scheduling platform. You choose an initial psychiatric evaluation and pick a date and time that fits your schedule. All visits are conducted via secure telepsychiatry across Indiana by scheduled appointment.
Insurance benefits are verified prior to your visit to provide an upfront estimate of your expected copay or self-pay rates before your appointment.
Before your visit, you will complete standard intake questionnaires online so your appointment can focus entirely on your clinical care and collaborative treatment plan.
What to have nearby
- Insurance
- Your card, if you are using insurance
- Medications
- Anything you take now, including doses
- Pharmacy
- The one you use, and roughly where it is
None of it has to be exact. If you cannot find a dose or cannot remember the name of something you took years ago, book anyway and bring what you have.
Insurance and payment
We accept major insurance plans including Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Indiana, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Ascension / SmartHealth, and Curative. Stillmind partners with Headway to manage billing, insurance verification, and payments.
Transparent self-pay options are available for all services. Self-pay patients receive a Good Faith Estimate in accordance with the No Surprises Act. See our Good Faith Estimate notice.
Changes and cancellations
Appointments can be moved or cancelled through the client portal. At least 24 hours of advance notice is requested so the time slot can be offered to another patient. A $75 fee applies to sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time.
Being unwell, a car that will not start and a childcare arrangement that fell through are all reasons to get in touch rather than reasons not to.
If you cannot wait for an appointment
Booking is for care that can be scheduled. If you are in crisis right now, call or text 988, any hour of any day. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
