Total expected cost

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including intake evaluations and follow-up care.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the federal right to dispute the bill through the established resolution process.

Patient financial protections

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions about costs and billing

Will I know my out-of-pocket cost before my appointment?

Yes. If using insurance, your coverage is verified before your visit to provide an estimate of your expected copay or deductible. Your final responsibility is determined by your insurance plan after the claim is processed. If paying out-of-pocket, our visit fees are fixed and posted upfront, and you receive a written Good Faith Estimate.

What is the appointment cancellation policy?

Appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled through the client portal with at least 24 hours of advance notice. A $75 fee applies to sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management, and psychotherapy are qualified medical expenses under most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). You can use your HSA or FSA card directly during payment.

Do I need a doctor referral to use my insurance?

In most cases, no referral is required to schedule with a psychiatric nurse practitioner. However, specific HMO plans occasionally require prior authorization or a referral from your primary care physician. We recommend checking your specific plan details with your carrier or during online scheduling.

How do out-of-network superbills work?

If your insurance carrier is not currently in-network, you pay the self-pay rate at the time of service. Upon request, we provide an itemized superbill with diagnostic and procedure codes that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
